Robert B. Amidon was born and raised in Washington, D.C. in the shadow of Capitol Hill. He was appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy, where he became a student pilot, and majored in Nuclear Reactor Design. As an officer, he obtained his M.S. at Catholic University, majoring in Oceanography, and traveled the "seven seas" on various missions with the U.S. Navy. He followed those experiences as a special liaison to the Department of Justice in areas dealing with national security and intelligence.
He obtained his law degree at the Georgetown University Law Center and was soon appointed as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Virginia and Washington D.C., specializing in racketeering and white-collar crime. Mr. Amidon was an instructor for the Attorney General's Advocacy Institute and a lecturer at Georgetown University on the topics of criminal law and ethics. He continued his association with the Navy as a reservist with airborne and intelligence units until his retirement in 1990 at the rank of Commander.
As he moved from public service to private practice, Mr. Amidon has been able to draw upon his many diverse areas of schooling and experience and offer his clients counseling with a unique range of knowledge and expertise.
